Seriuosly, one of the coolest books I've read in a LONG time.  If you are a geek that grew up in the 80s, you gotta read this book.

Rivalry weekend.

I’m a Yankees fan.

I just had to say that because my next statement might shock some people.

I feel sorry for the Red Sox.

Serioulsy, who wouldn’t feel sorry for them?  They are going into their home opener with a 0-6 record.  Not very good for a team that everybody swore was going to run away with the American League East.  A team with a spectacular starting rotation is nearly 2:1 in runs allowed to runs scored.  And that last game was just a lousy way to lose.  A suicide squeeze to score the only run of the game followed by some shoddy base running.  Ouch!

Phil Hughes starts on Friday.  I really think he is better than his debut this season.  Look for him to win at least 16 games this season.  Then first one will be against the BoSox.  John Lackey is good, but the Yankees own him.  The Yankees will win but, if they decimate the BoSox on Friday, look for a series sweep.

Ivan Nova will have a lot of pressure on him on Saturday. He’s going to give up some runs. He is going to look shaky. And then he is going to thrive in the pressure situation.  That is going to be the most exciting game of the series.

Finally, CC on Sunday.  The guy has a 1.38 ERA and still doesn’t have a win.  He will once again pitch a bunch of scoreless innings. However, this time the bullpen won’t blow it.

Mo will get two more saves on his way to the record.  Jeet will get a few hits and Tex will prove that he is not in an April funk.

I may be dreaming, but this is my blog so there!  On a serious note, Yankees take the series. They win Friday and Sunday.

MLB 2K-Sucks

2K Sports has released MLB 2K11. I have been so disappointed in this series that I didn't purchase 2K9 or 2K10.  I figured it's been two years, they should have fixed all the problems. Yeah, that didn't happen.

Overall, the game looks nice. However, at this point in the console wars, I expect no less. Then I saw the visuals on MLB The Show. Not so impressed with the visuals in 2K11 anymore.

My biggest gripe with this game is the AI.  If you have bases loaded and no outs, where do you throw grounder straight to you middle infield?  You go home to get the force at home and then to first or third.  But noooooooo! The stupid AI throws to second and.... That's it!  Most of the time it doesn't even try to throw to first.  In fact, I would say about 50% of the time, they don't turn two. The first baseman doesn't run back to the bag which is kinda crazy. Lots of times the pitcher doesn't cover first. Heck, even when I am playing as the pitcher I can't run to cover first base.

Aaargh! There are so many other things wrong with the AI I could go on forever. But I won't. I think I'm going to kickback and watch Yankees vs Twins.  At least they know how to turn a double play.

I really wish there was another baseball game for the Xbox. I would probably pick it up in a heartbeat.

Notice to 2K Games: You seriously need to improve your product.

The Yankees Win! The-e-e-e-e Yankees Win!

And with that, begins the most awesome part of the Year. The season opened up yesterday with a nice win by the Yanks over the Tigers. CC got a no-decision but he really should have gotten the win. He looked good and I except a 20 or 21 win season and top three in Cy Young voting. CGrand ( there is a nickname in there somewhere) looks great. A couple of highlight catches and a homer. Nice!
Is Tex out of early season slump? Doubt it. But it was nice to start the year with a dinger.
A-Rod looks good. Slim, comfortable, and confident. I see MVP season.
Nice to see Gardner working on his bunting. If he perfects it "Scooter" style he will a major threat on the basepaths.
Talking about threats on the basepaths, go R-Mart! Loved him when he played for the 51s. Loved him when he played with the Dodgers. Stealing 3rd? Love him playing for the Yanks.

I could go on and on but that would take forever. For right now, it looks like the Yankees are looking really good.

Messing around... Again.

So I decided to mess around with the style of the blog.  Pay no attention to the image above.  I'm working on a new header. Hope to have it up in a few days.

Thoughts on the Super Bowl

Going to be totally honest here. I really enjoyed the Super Bowl. No, not just the commercials. The game itself was awesome. It's been a some time since i enjoyed the actual game instead of the commercials. Although I am a New York fan (Giants... Jets... Take your pick), I was cheering for the Steelers. Why? They are closer to NYC than Green Bay... Black and yellow uniforms and logo only one side of the helmet is cool... Players with cool names like Rashard Mendenhall (they should have given him the ball more often), Antwaan Randle El (still not sure which is his last name), Ben Roethlisberger (still can't say it without my tongue getting all twisted), Ziggy Hood (c'mon, Ziggy, how could you not like that name), Troy Polamalu (Polamalu, Polamalu, it just rolls off the tongue. Love saying that name)... Hines Ward has got a really cool website... Mean Joe Green had one of the coolest commercials ever...

Speaking of commercials...

Best commercial of the Super Bowl... Darth Vader Kid! C'mon, you guys didn't see this coming?** Other favorites: Bud Light - Dog Sitter (the dogs playing poker at the end was priceless, Chrysler - Eminem (who cares about the car, just glad to see Em's out of rehab... again), Volkswagen - Black Beetle (It was just cool).

Most Disturbing: Doritos - The Best Part (guy sucking other guys fingers = disturbing)

Almost as Disturbing: GoDaddy - New GoDaddy Girl (Did we really need to see Joan Rivers in that light?)

Worst Commercial: So many to choose from...

Anyway, do you know what the best part of the Super Bowl is? The end of the game. Why? 'Cause it means that baseball season is right around the corner. Less than a week and pitcher and catchers start reporting. Ahhh, spring is in the air. And about time too. Sick and tired of the stupid crazy cold weather we've been having in Vegas.

Anyway, gotta jet.
